Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro

Incredible read. I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did, but I shouldn’t have been surprised by a Pulitzer prize winning author. Klara is an ‘Artificial Friend’ who is purchased by a family to be a companion for their daughter. The story is told from Klara’s perspective and it’s a beautiful, moving, and deeply human story filled with human emotion and tragedy as well as love, light and joy. If you haven’t read it yet, please do and do it right away.
